Skin Mirror (the "app") respects your privacy. This page explains what data is processed when you use the app, and how.
The app requests access to your camera to provide skincare suggestions. Photos you take are analyzed only for this purpose, entirely on your device's own processor (on-device).
To confirm a photo is a real selfie and to know which parts of it are skin (forehead, cheeks, chin, under-eye area), the app uses Apple's on-device Vision framework to briefly locate a face outline and a small number of reference points (e.g. approximate eye, eyebrow, and chin position) within the photo. This is face detection, not face recognition: it never produces, uses, or stores any biometric identifier, template, or embedding capable of recognizing or distinguishing one person from another.
This face outline and reference-point data exists only in memory for the brief moment that single photo is being analyzed. It is never written to disk, never stored in the app's local database, never included in any backup or sync, and is discarded immediately after that photo's analysis completes. It is never transmitted anywhere — not to any server, not to Apple, and not to any third party. Only separate, non-identifying numeric measurements derived from the photo (such as average brightness or texture in those regions) are saved alongside your photo in the app's local history.
Your photos are never sent to any server, never shared with any third party, and never leave the app. Analysis results and your history are stored only locally on your own device. The app has no server infrastructure or database of any kind.
The app does not share or sell your personal data to third parties for advertising, analytics, or any other purpose.
When you delete the app from your device, all local data (including your photo analysis history) is permanently removed from your device. You can also manually clear your history at any time from within the app's settings.
The app is intended for entertainment and cosmetic skincare purposes only, and does not provide medical diagnosis.
